Tom Hayes is an award-winning playwright whose credits include Only Sing for Me (CSU’s annual play festival, 2005) and The Appalachian Trail  (CSU, 2004), and whose co-writing credits include Know Your Future (Ingenuity Festival, 2008) and Lost Prospect (Ingenuity Festival, 2006). Tom’s A Howl in the Woods was a winning entry in Cleveland Public Theatre’s Little Box competition for 2007, then won the convergence-continuum’s New Plays Competition in 2008. Produced as Lord of the Burgeoning Lumber, the play was named Best Original Script by Rave and Pan. Tom’s MFA thesis play, Patterns, was staged at Cleveland Public Theatre in 2011, and his play Anima Animus was read online via the Ten Minute Play Workshop in 2012, then short-listed for the British Theatre Challenge in 2016. Tom received an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council for 2020 for his play Concussive Blast. His book Secret of the Warlock’s Crypt was published in 2015. Tom is a librarian at Case Western Reserve University.
